Subject: Representation against arbitrary traffic diversion in Baramulla town

Respected Sir,

I, on behalf of the aggrieved residents and commuters of Baramulla, most respectfully submit this representation regarding the recent traffic diversion imposed within the town, which has caused severe inconvenience and hardship to the general public.

It is submitted that the said diversion appears to have been implemented without adequate public consultation or assessment of ground realities. The decision has resulted in unnecessary congestion, delays, and disruption of daily life, particularly affecting students, patients, traders and working individuals.Such a measure, which directly impacts the fundamental right to free movement under Article 19(1)(d) of the Constitution of India, must adhere to the principles of reasonableness, fairness, and transparency.

Moreover, it is a matter of concern that instead of engaging with the common public and stakeholders, the decision seems to have been taken without incorporating public opinion, thereby giving rise to an impression that extraneous considerations have outweighed genuine public interest.Administrative actions must reflect accountability to the people rather than alignment with selective or political inputs.

In light of the above, it is humbly prayed that:
1. The present traffic diversion be immediately reviewed and reconsidered.
2. A proper assessment be conducted on ground realities in consultation with local residents, traders and commuters.
3. Public objections and suggestions be invited before implementing such measures in future.
4. Necessary corrective steps be taken to ensure smooth and hassle-free movement of the public.

The administration is expected to act in accordance with law, ensuring transparency, accountability and protection of public interest at all times.

Yours sincerely,
Haamid Bhat (BJP Leader)
Advocate / Public Representative
